Today, we present the views of several local creatives on what the year 2022 meant for them in terms of their craft. Amongst others, we asked about their highlights and accomplishments, who or what made their year, and lessons learned as well as their thoughts on mental health.

When we buried a dear brother and fellow Pan Afrikanist, Bankie Foster Bankie, on 1 August 2017, a certain Glenory Whatson from the UK said something that has stuck with me forever, namely: “I don’t remember a day in my life when I was not a Pan Akrikanist.” I can as well say, I do not remember a day in my life when I was not a supporter of Brazil’s national soccer team, aka the Samba Boys.

This contract hinges on people`s values, what they judge to be right or wrong, what they deem important, the causes they espouse, and the ideals they embrace in strengthening the quality of the country’s democracy.
