WINDHOEK – The fourth round of the Bank Windhoek Fistball Championship is set to produce some exciting action tomorrow.

The teams of the Bank Windhoek National A and B leagues will grill each other at the SKW Fistball fields in Olympia with the first games starting at 08h00, with only the first three teams of each league qualifying to play for the championship.

League and cup winners SKW-1 are well in control of the Bank Windhoek National-A league as they are four points ahead of their nearest rivals, CFC-1 and SKW-2, while they also have a game in hand.

With spiker, Arend von Stryk, set to return to action this weekend after battling an assortment of injuries for the better part of this season, SKW-1 are hot favourites to retain first place on the log standings, which would then automatically allow them to qualify for the championship play-off in September.

Cohen FC-1 and SKW-2 are in a tight race for second place on the log. Both teams are equal on points and will meet tomorrow morning in what promises to be an exciting encounter. The winner will most certainly end the day in second place. Neither SFC-1 nor Cohen FC-2 have a chance to reach one of the top three positions and will be battling it out at the bottom of the table.

Cohen FC-3 will have their work cut out to remain at the top of the log in the National-A league. They will face both second-placed SFC-2 and third-placed DTS. Both teams have only narrowly lost to defending champions in previous encounters.

Although SFC-2 is four points behind the log leaders, they still have an outside chance of taking first place. The battle for third place will also be heated, as DTS and SKW-3 – who are both level on 15 points – will clash tomorrow afternoon. The team that finishes third still has a chance to qualify for the championship final in September while the fourth-placed team does not.
