Chery celebrates world-wide milestone

Chery Global is celebrating a significant production milestone.

One-million Tiggo 7s have been exported globally, underscoring the automaker’s commitment to international markets.

Chery Namibia sales manager Vincent van Rooyen said the latest model gracing local showrooms, the Chery Tiggo Cross, has arrived in the country.

This tech-savvy Chery currently retails from N$399 900.

“Achieving this production milestone is a testament to Chery’s unwavering commitment to global markets,” said Jay Jay Botes, general manager for Chery South Africa.

“This achievement not only reflects the success of the Tiggo 7 lineup, but also underscores our long-term vision for growth, particularly in South Africa, where we are proud to contribute to social development and cater to a diverse clientele,” he added.

The automaker celebrated the occasion at a special ceremony held at the Wuhu production facility.

The Tiggo 7 is manufactured at several sites worldwide.

The sport utility vehicle (SUV) is tailored to meet the needs of the respective markets in which it is sold.

Namibian consumers have come to appreciate the unbeatable combination of value for money, quality and luxury features.

This is reflected in continued strong sales, with Chery Namibia ranking as one of the best-performing manufacturers in the local passenger car market.

Meanwhile, worldwide sales have grown from strength to strength since the Tiggo 7s introduction, with the SUV racking up several awards along the way, including a five-star ANCAP safety rating, and top rankings in the China Initial Quality Study (IQS), and China Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study.

The successful export of the one-millionth Tiggo 7 highlights Chery’s commitment to global expansion, and strengthening its position in existing markets.

Looking forward, Chery is dedicated to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, and contributing to economic and social progress in Namibia.
