WINDHOEK– ChiNamibia Arts Education for Development is hosting a Children Arts and Culture Festival at Independence Arena in Katutura at the end of this month.

Kapena Vetira, one of the festival organisers, says  cultural groups of children between five and  to 16 years are allowed to participate. The festival  aims at celebrating Namibian Culture and African culture as a whole. “We will be having children performing their traditional dances such as  Oudano from Oshiwambo Culture, Outjina from Otjiherero Culture, Nama Stap from the Nama People and Rukavango dance will be incorporated in a children play. We will also be having a live exhibition by the children and fun activities like face painting, free style dance music and poetry,” says Vetira.

“Our lined up activities will be face painting, a drama performance titled Rural Vs Morden societies. There will also be different poems on tradition and culture and the different exhibition,” adds Vetira. The event is free of charge and it will start at nine O’clock (09h00) until one O’clock (13h00). Everyone is invited to bring their friends and families to witness the event.
