Chile run riot on 7 kings

Chile run riot on 7 kings

Futsal league log leaders Chile FC maintained their grip at the top of the standings over the weekend with a commanding 13-1 victory over 7 Kings FC.

All matches were played at the Windhoek Showgrounds in the capital. Saturday’s emphatic win saw Chile FC stretch their lead to 53 points, three clear of second-placed Quality FC, who also picked up maximum points after a dominant 12-0 demolition of The Mavericks.

Chile FC head coach Mefflint de Waal praised his players for their efforts over the weekend and promised to keep their momentum going in their title chase.

“Coming into the match, we wanted to secure the points, and that’s exactly what we did. It wasn’t an easy game, but teamwork played a huge role in our victory,” said De Waal.

Looking ahead, he added: “We’ll go back, work harder, and plan for our next match. The league has become so competitive — every game is a bigger test because everyone wants to beat the log leaders.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, Ballers FC suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of JAC FC, a result that allowed EFG Patriots FC to capitalise with a 5-3 win over WIAS FC. That victory saw EFG Patriots move into fourth place, although Ballers FC still have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, X-Men FC climbed into fifth position after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Demia FC, taking advantage of a 2-2 draw between Ragazzi FC and Boston Madrid.

At the summit, the league’s top contenders showed no mercy in high-scoring encounters. Quality FC thrashed The Mavericks 12-1, while Chile FC continued their ruthless form with their 13-1 win.

Futsal Namibia media manager Greyeno Rosberg also praised the competitive nature of the league. “The league has become so unpredictable you never know who’s going to win, and that’s the most exciting part of this season. Fans are in for a treat every weekend, as no team is willing to drop points,” he added.
