Comics in their last  yearly act at Kalabar

Home Time Out Comics in their last  yearly act at Kalabar

WINDHOEK– The final act in the Comedy in the House 2014 series take place tomorrow night at the Hilton Hotel’s popular Kalabar.

Opening the  action is Janice, one of the few in the category of female species of comedians in Namibia. She is still young on the comedy circuit  but possesses all the ingredients required, namely charm, intelligence and spontaneity. Janice believes that the only ‘wrinkles’ a woman might tolerate are the lines imprinted on her face through laughter! The truth is that comedy is her way to escape the seriousness prevailing at the UNAM law faculty, of which she is a member.

Next is Steven Biko (real name). Steven, like Lifa, was inspired by Taap the Guy to join the comedy frail. Steven made it to the last round at the ‘Last Comic Standing’ competition 2014 and – with his dry presentation on the advantages of hygiene on public toilets – managed to scratch at the thrones of the established stand-up artists. He is a proclaimed Eddie Murphy fan, yet his style is unique and, in fact, very different from that of his peer. Another newcomer is Just Hendrick (JH). JH is an uncut diamond. He is bound to feature as what the comedy fraternity refers to as a bubble up. JH claims he was inspired by Dave Chapelle, the US American stand-up artist who walked away from a television show and a fifty-million-dollars-deal in 2012, just to stay true to his style. JH says he needs the money that comes with the profession and he’ll be there!

C-Square are the answer to the successful music duo P-Square – who performed to a full house in Windhoek a month ago. C-Square is not from Nigeria but from Zimbabwe. They don’t do afro-pop, but stand-up. Local comedians Courage and Chiro hope patrons will buy a ticket to their shows without noticing! he show starts at 20h and the GOOD NEWS is that it is free of charge!
