By Frederick Philander KEETMANSHOOP Mayor Simon Tiboth considers the opening of a new office of Trustco last Thursday as a welcome economic venture and a worthy force to be reckoned with in local business terms and the people of his Southern town. He was delivering the keynote address at the opening of the office in the Central Business District of Keetmanshoop, and many local business people and invited guests attended the occasion. “With the opening of this office, Trustco is putting our town and the Karas Region on the map and is at the same time creating the opportunity for the town’s people to do business with the company. Not only does the Trustco now shine brightly for the residents of the town, but also for everyone within the Karas Region,” said Mayor Tiboth. He praised the managing director of the Trustco Group as the person who pioneered access to justice in Namibia. “Legal Shield is the flagship of the Trustco Group and delivers cost-efficient and affordable legal and short-term insurance products to many Namibians. The utilization of highly technological systems and various registered legal practitioners throughout Namibia makes this company one of a kind. I therefore have no doubt that the opening of a regional office in Keetmanshoop will facilitate the necessary access to justice,” he said. Tiboth concluded by expressing the hope that Trustco would serve a vital role in promoting access to justice, good governance and education in the Karas Region. “It is a well-known fact that we have a common enemy as a nation – poverty and the dominant contributing factor element thereto is a lack of knowledge and information. The opening of this office is clear testimony that Trustco is determined not only to empower Namibians economically, but to provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills for their personal development and the country at large,” said Trustco director, Dr David Namwandi, at the same occasion. In Namwandi’s view, Namibians will only be masters of their own destiny if human capital is properly taken care of. “Along with the Namibian Government, we at Trustco are determined to make a difference, which will make a significant impact in the year 2030 when the country will finally be an industrialized one,” Namwandi predicted. He also announced that the Keetmanshoop Trustco office is the first of a series of offices to be opened countrywide in future.
