WALVIS BAY – The four suspects, who are accused of stealing a Namport container valued at N$120 000 last week at the harbour town were granted bail of N$20 000 each on Thursday during their second appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court.

The four suspects are 32-year old Abel Paulus, Brendan Chika Sanjahi, and Lazarus Shipulwa and 27-year-old Leon Chombo Simaata. Paulus is employed at CMA, a company which rents out containers to Namport and other companies, while Sanjahi and Shipulwa are employed by Namport. Simaata is employed by Night Eagle Watch Security, which is contracted by the port authority. The suspects appeared before Vicky Nicolaidis and were represented by Lawyers Lana Fouche and Garoy September. Their case was postponed to November 04 for further police investigation. They were arrested last week Tuesday and Wednesday for allegedly removing the empty cargo container from Namport’s premises without a permit, or the required documents, with the intention to sell it. The container was however recovered in Karibib following their arrest. All four suspects had already paid bail yesterday.
