KEETMANSHHOP – The police in Keetmanshoop are investigating the murder of 46-year-old Augustineus Joseph who died after he was stabbed in his heart with a sharp object on Friday.
According to Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator for the //Karas Region, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Isaak, the incident took place on Friday night between 19h00 and 20h00 and was reported by a member of the community.
“Although there were no eyewitnesses the police were called (to the scene of the crime) by a community member. We still have no idea who the suspect is. We will be acting on the leads we have, but I have a strong feeling we’ll be making a breakthrough very soon,” said Isaak adding that the homicide took place in a dark area of Koppieslaagte, which is section of Tseiblaagte township in Keetmanshoop.
According to Isaak a woman was robbed of her cellphone in the same vicinity on the same evening.
