WINDHOEK-For Cathy Tshikesho, fashion designer and owner of Urban Glamour, the language that fashion designers speak and understand better is designing good cloth.
The fashion show that Urban Glamour held at Umti Lodge 20 kilometres North of Windhoek recently spoke loud to what the Urban Glamour designers are capable of. Tshikesho, and Ruth Nghono, an upcoming designer under Urban Glamour showcased some of their elegant dresses at the show. “I have been a designer my whole life and in 2007 it become official when I get my diploma from the College of the Art(Cota). Fashion designers speaks through their work, so if you look at my work you will understand me better.”
To the upcoming designer, Nghono, being under Tshikesho is the best experience as she is growing as a designer, and this being her second show to showcase her work, she believes the industry is getting better. “Watch out for the Urban Glamour designers we are here to stay,” affirms Nghono. According to Queen Avula, organizer of the show, it was meant to promote and support Urban Glamour’s designers, and to find contestants for Miss Outapi 2013 being crowned on December 25.
