WINDHOEK – As a responsible corporate citizen, Debmarine Namibia has established a Social Responsibility Fund, which seeks opportunities to support charitable causes that make a difference in the lives of people in many local communities across the nation.

Yesterday Debmarine Namibia presented donations to some of the projects that will benefit from the fund. The recipients represent various projects from the different regions in Namibia, and include the Mainstream Foundation, DAPP Namibia, Oonte OVC Organisation and Friendly Haven. Debmarine Namibia handed over a total donation amounting to

N$160 000 to these organizations. The company also supports a safe house for abused and vulnerable women and children in Windhoek. “We are working with an impoverished rural community in southern Namibia to explore the possibilities of a small-scale agricultural project and we provide university bursaries to young Namibians annually.

So while we continue to be a notable contributor to Treasury, we do pay special attention to social investment.  We certainly work hard to unlock the sparkle for Namibia,” noted Debmarine’s communications manager, Stella Auala.
