New kid on the block Salute Boxing Academy say they want to change the overall image of Namibian boxing and the way things are done.

Established just some weeks ago, the academy recently wasted little time in underlining their serious approach towards revolutionising local boxing when they launched their first boxing bonanza, as well as unveiled some of the stable’s boxers at a hotel in the capital.

The highly awaited boxing bonanza is slated for the northern town of Ondangwa on August 26 at the J&P Complex.
The bonanza will feature some of the country’s top and upcoming pugilists such as Joseph ‘Smokey’ Hilongwa, Abraham Ndaendapo, Albinos Felisianu and Lukas ‘The Demolisher’ Ndafoluma, among others.

Speaking at the launch, the academy’s vice-executive chairperson Linus Indongo said the mission of the boxing school is to build a boxing franchise that is internationally accredited by all international boxing organisations.

“We intend to be true to our slogan, ‘Building champions where winning is the goal.’ We want to be accredited with the International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Federation (WBF), World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organisation (WBO), just to mention some,” he said.- Additional reporting Nampa
