By William J. Mbangula OSHAKATI The owner of Ongwediva Service Station Chris Nunes donated a wheelchair worth N$1 800 to a disabled woman of Olupandu village in the Omusati Region. Nunes told New Era that he made the donation out of goodwill after watching the emotional appeal of the woman on TV. ” I did not know the lady but I only learned about her plight on TV and thought of assisting her in this way,” he said. Her spiritual leader, as one of the most dedicated parish members, described the 47-year-old recipient Mirjam Hamukwaya who was accompanied by Reverend Thomas Uushona of the Elcin Church at Olupandu. ” I think this wheelchair will go a long way to assist her because before this assistance she used to come to church in a wheelbarrow,” said Uushona. Hamuwaya became disabled after suffering from an unknown disease and later was involved in a car accident.
