Dispatched thoughts -Be grateful in the moment

Dispatched thoughts -Be grateful in the moment

Every time an event or something comes to an end, a new cycle and struggle begin and a new fight to make it to the end starts again. The same applies when it comes to gratitude – it too runs its course and will have to be restarted again. However, the best part of any ride is not the end or beginning, but the ride itself.

When you find yourself on a good roll – as if there is nothing you can’t do and for a good while, the track record speaks for itself – savour those moments, because while they might not happen every day, they do happen and are an absolute blessing.

It’s a great feeling to be on a winning streak. For some reason, it feels like it’s about to get a whole lot bigger and better, and you even grow a sense of great optimism in everything you do; it’s a tangible but unexplainable feeling.

At times, you are not even sure what changed but whatever it was, you love it and want it to continue. Some make it an obsession to figure out what’s bringing them all this good fortune – God, karma or luck? Maybe, just be grateful and enjoy those blessings.

For as much as we are grateful for everything that has been going right, in the back of our minds there still lingers the sour taste of the things that didn’t work out – the ‘if onlys’ and the ‘I could’ve/should’ve done this or that’. We hate them when they come to the front. It’s as if it’s all that people see but in micro-moments, they have been so insignificant compared to what has been bringing us joy. Success really does breed success.

The reality though is that we all know that eventually, all good things must come to an end. At some point, a winning or dominant streak or era will come to its conclusion. Those that know it are barely fazed when it happens; they are more ecstatic that they had one in the first place.

So, instead of complaining about the end of an era or anything good or being too ambitious or too caught up at the beginning of anything, be grateful that you were not only able to pull it off, but got to experience such greatness.
