Dixon Norval, currently Head of Strategic Marketing and Communications at FNB Namibia Group, will take up a new role at the bank as Executive Officer FNB Premium Segment from July 1, 2015. The formation of this new segment is aligned to the restructuring at FNB to improve customer service.

“FNB’s Premium Segment will, among other things, focus on servicing the needs of FNB’s high net worth customers, as they progress through life. It will offer a complete value proposition that will not only include transactional banking accounts and access to funds, but also improve FNB’s capacity to provide services that help these customers save and manage their money and protect their lifestyle through investment and insurance offerings. The focus is thus to offer solutions that will assist customers create wealth,” said Dixon Norval.

Norval holds a Master’s Degree from the University of the Free State, majoring in Sociology, and was later awarded an MBA Degree from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, both cum laude. His work, both scientific and popular papers, have been published in various publications.

His previous work experience includes being a full-time lecturer at the University of the Free State, South Africa, and later part-time lecturing in a MBA programme at the University of Namibia (UNAM).

After spending time in community development and new business development in Namibia, with the Namibia Development Corporation (NDC), and in the automotive industry, where he held several senior positions, he joined the financial services sector. He later held a senior management position at Namibia Breweries where he was responsible for the corporate affairs, before returning to financial services by joining FNB Namibia. His strategic inclination continues to influence his work environment. He is a well-known and respected business development and brand, marketing and communication expert in Namibia and sits on various boards as a director or trustee.

With a clear understanding of the importance and role of financial services in the development of the country and region and the need for the sustainability of the banking industry he actively pursues this personal passion of making Namibia a better place for all, both as an employee of FNB and in his personal capacity.
