Don’t vote for unemployment – Itula

KATIMA MULILO  – Independent Patriots for Change leader and presidential candidate Panduleni Itula has called on residents of Katima Mulilo to vote for change if they want employment, better healthcare and housing.

Speaking at a rally held at Choto informal settlement on Sunday, he said the Namibian Constitution glues people together and gives them the right to vote for change. It is through change that unemployment, poverty and hunger can be unlocked.

“How many of you here have jobs? It’s not because of IPC, it’s the failure of the current government. Vote for change, don’t vote for unemployment,” he said.

Itula stated that after 34 years of independence, the Swapo-led government still struggles to deliver proper healthcare to the people of Zambezi, with many schools in the region lacking proper classrooms.

“Don’t allow yourself to be bitten by a snake twice, even if it doesn’t have poison. Say no! Why do you still travel long distances to access healthcare? I know the presidential constitutional limitations, but give us that mandate when you are going to vote. The power lies with you to select the people to go to Parliament and make laws that speak to your needs,” he campaigned.

He also promised to make reforms that will reduce the tax thresholds in different sectors, and said his regime will tap into nuclear energy, which is reliable and efficient.
He said his campaigns are grassroots-centred and seek first-hand information on the suffering of the masses, hence he knows what the people’s urgent needs are, and what they lack most.

During the rally, more than 150 new members were welcomed to the party.
