WINDHOEK – It will be a display of grace, flexibility and strength. The Windhoek Rhythmic Club (WRC) host its first competition ever in its newly built hall, the FNB National Qualifying Competition in Rhythmic Gymnastics.
A total of 135 gymnasts from Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Tsumeb and Windhoek will be in action this weekend. The event is sponsored by FNB Bank to the tune of N$20 000.
In Rhythmic Gymnastics, gymnasts perform routines with different apparatus such as rope, hoop, clubs, ball and ribbon and a dance compilation without apparatus. All routines are choreographed with music and Novice levels are Level 1–3, intermediate 4–7, while Levels 8 and up are high performance levels.
Founded in 2010, WRC is one of the youngest Rhythmic Gymnastics Clubs in Namibia and made its dream come true last month when the club relocated to its own hall, built on the premises of Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) (access from Wika Drive).
