WINDHOEK – A man who was recently denied bail for possessing drugs when he appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court has appealed for bail.

His quest for bail continues in the hearing today.

Mohamed Shibani, 38, was recently denied bail by Magistrate John Sindano. Shibani faced two counts one of which was dealing in cocaine and dealing in potentially dangerous dependence producing drugs.

The bail hearing was due to start Monday but will only start today. “There is a ‘big fish’ involved,” Shibani initially told police investigators.

Shibani was allegedly taken by the police to point out the ‘big fish’, sources informed New Era.

Shibani is an ex-boyfriend of one of the magistrates at the same court where he will be appearing.

He was arrested in Windhoek on October 28.

He was allegedly found with 15 pellets of cocaine containing more than 0.1 percentage. The matter was remanded to January 29, 2015.

If convicted Shibani faces 15 years in prison or a fine not exceeding N$30 000.
