With the aim to honour local artists and producers who have passed away, local RnB artist and rapper, Little Eddie (real name Etienne Rooinasie) has dedicated his new song, Remember Me, to them.

Little Eddie says the aim of releasing the song is not only to allow music lovers to remember those who have passed away, but to also put all their memorable moments in the limelight again. “As they are not here to release new songs any more they are often forgotten by society. I wanted to remind the public of what great artists the country had. Although these artists have been taken from the world, their music is left behind for us. We therefore have to enjoy it to the fullest,” he says.

The artist is singing the song as if he is the one who has passed on. “I figured that it would best to put myself in the place of the deceased as the listeners can easily relate to the message in this way,” the 21-year old explains. Little Eddie says the artists who are no more are the ones  who worked hard to get the local music industry where it is today, and that it is now up to those who are still in industry to continue building it.

Little Eddie wrote the song shortly after his grandmother passed away. “As i was remembering my grandmother my thoughts went to all the artists who has passed away. As an artist I know how difficult the music industry is and i decided to write the song,” he says.

Little Eddie has his own music label called Edvicted Music. He released his debut album last November entitled Study hard, aiming to inspire the youth to take education seriouly. Little Eddie was nominated in the Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMAs) in two categories this year, Best Disciplined Artist of the Year and Best Live Performer of the Year.
