EENHANA – The Eenhana Town Council has allocated N$105 million of its total budget to capital projects representing the lion’s share of its 2014/15 budget.

The amount represents over 63 percent of the total budget. The budget was tabled last week by the mayor of the town Julia Ndeapo. She said although there are a lot of capital projects to be implemented, a big chunk will go to crop field compensation in order for the crop fields to make way for development. “During the 2014/2015 fiscal period, council will spent N$23 million on the construction of a new complex to cater for the growing need for new office space and a council chamber. It will also spent an amount of N$13.5 million on the mass housing project and N$1 million on the fencing of the new cemetery,” said Ndeapo. She further said the council will prioritise the planning of 950 plots, as well as the surveying of 400 plots including their servicing to the tune of N$5 million dollars.

The council has also allocated an amount N$14 million to cater for salaries and wages during the course of the 2014/2015 fiscal year, a significant increment from the N$8 million during the year under review.
