WINDHOEK – It is almost time for Miss Okapya 2014 and aspiring beauty queens are invited to register to compete in the pageant.
Registration for the annual event is already taking place and organisers have asked interested girls to send an e-mail with their names and contact details to missokapya@gmail.com or call for more information this mobile phone number: 0812444074. A N$50 registration fee is payable. This fifth Miss Okapya event will be hosted at the Ekamuti Town Lodge in Ondangwa, Oshikoto region at the end of the year. According to the organiser, Sandro Ithana, registration is open until August 1. This competition is open to women between the ages of 16 and 24, who are not married and have not yet given birth.
Miss Okapya was founded by the youth of Okapya Village with the purpose of honouring local girls and girls in neighbouring towns and villages and their importance to the community. “The main aim of Miss Okapya is to give an opportunity to young girls in the village who cannot make it to towns or cities where events like this usually take place,” says Ithana. The event is organised by J& P Group and No Mercy Entertainment.
