Business has picked up at YPS Computer Services, which specialises in refurbishing computers and electronic equipment, following the profiling of the business in New Era’s weekly feature of ‘SME Corner: Meet the tenderers in the market.’ “Some people called me interested in and now supporting my company after they read my story in New Era,” said an appreciative Petrus Shonghela, the youthful proprietor of YPS Computer Services. He says the spike in business prompted him to employ an additional person. “A woman from Outapi was especially interested in the juke boxes I converted from redundant computer parts and already placed an order for one,” he says, adding: “As part of my plans for the future I want to open an IT shop selling hardware, software and equipment.” In the photo is Shonghela when he paid a surprise visit to New Era offices this week to express his gratitude.
