Esterhuizen to represent Namibia at IBF Convention

Esterhuizen to represent Namibia at IBF Convention

A member of the interim Namibia Professional Boxing and Wrestling Control Board, Patrick Esterhuizen, is set to travel to the United States on 28 May to attend the 40th Convention of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Esterhuizen, who will be attending the global event on a self-funded basis, says the trip will be of great benefit to the Namibian boxing fraternity.

“This is a valuable opportunity for Namibian boxing. I’ll be returning with a wealth of knowledge from the U.S. to share with my counterparts and other stakeholders in the country,” he told New Era Sport.

He added that he received a personal invitation from IBF president Daryl Peoples to attend the convention and engage in discussions about the development of boxing activities within Namibia and the broader Southern African region.
