Futsal league returns this weekend for second round

Futsal league returns this weekend for second round

Following the conclusion of the first round of the NDTC Futsal men’s premier league, the action is set to resume this weekend with the start of the second round.

Last weekend saw the final matches of the first round played.

Ragazzi faced a tough encounter, losing 5-1 to Quality.

Ken Salote and Eduardo Solunga each scored twice.

Luis Solunga added another for Quality.

Shauen scored the lone goal for Ragazzi.

WHK Futsal overcame a resilient Boston Madrid 4-2, with goals from Jaylen Steyn, Dennis Tredow, Daniel Dausab and Denzel Mulunga.

League leaders Chile showcased their dominance with an 8-0 victory over Ineos, maintaining their top position at the halfway point of the season.

In other results, EFG Patriots defeated JAC 5-2, Demia suffered a 5-2 loss to WIAS, and The Mavericks drew 2-2 with Flying V.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, Futsal Namibia media manager Greyeno Rusberg reflected on the first round, highlighting the significant growth since the league’s inception.

He noted that the current season has seen increased competitiveness among the teams, making it difficult to predict the eventual champions.

“Yes, the first round concluded this weekend. Reflecting on the games so far, I am impressed, as the competition has risen, with each team becoming strong and hoping to clinch titles,” Rusberg said.

He stated that despite the first round concluding just this past weekend, teams will not have a break.

They will immediately start the second round this coming weekend.

“Due to the international break in April with the Futsal Women’s Afcon competition, breaks are short for the league resumption and fixture schedule availability at the Futsal venue,” he noted.

Zack Aria Halim, the owner of Ragazzi, blamed the lack of experience and preparations for their weekend loss.

“Unfortunately, we lost last weekend. But, as I told you last time, we are a three-month-old team. The team we played is four years, so we will fight and fight to come back,” he said.
