By Petronella Sibeene WINDHOEK The governor of the Erongo region, where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been residing, will have the honour of naming the American couple’s expected baby. The closest person to the couple since their arrival in Namibia, governor Samuel Nuuyoma has revealed that the two celebrities have given him the honour to name the baby when it arrives, “anytime soon”. This is the latest that has come from their Swakopmund hide-out before a media briefing organized for Friday at the coastal town. “When she goes to the hospital, as the father of the region, I will be informed and I will go there. I will announce the good news and I will name the baby,” Nuuyoma stated with excitement. The governor declined to reveal what kind of name he will give to the yet-to-be-born baby. Since the two Hollywood stars landed in Namibia, only the Erongo governor has had the chance to “chat and dine” with them. Nuuyoma described Pitt and Jolie as “good people, peace-minded and ready to help”. At a press briefing this coming Friday, the couple will make donations but in what form, the governor could not reveal. “She will donate many things,” that’s all he could tell New Era. Just recently, media reports said that Jolie and Pitt’s baby would come last Thursday, resulting in the pa-parazzi gathering at the coastal town of Swakopmund like anxious fathers in a maternity ward. To their surprise, the Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt remained indoors while hungry reporters hung around for a scoop. It is hoped that Friday’s media briefing will shed more light on the situation. A local newspaper was last week quoted as saying Jolie was to give birth within the next two days, possibly opting for a home birth with a special aircraft on standby. “Jolie … is expected to go into labour in the next 48 hours,” the The Namibian said under the banner headline “Jolie-Pitt baby expected shortly”. Governor Nuuyoma could not reveal which hospital Jolie would go to for the delivery of the popular, yet unborn, baby.
