Henock Tangeni Kankoshi was born on September 19,1965 at Uukwanambwa in the Onyaanya Constituency of Oshikoto Region.

He has been governor of the Oshikoto Region since 2015.

Education
He completed his senior secondary schooling at Oluno between 1982 and 1983 and obtained a teaching qualification between 1984 and 1985 from Ongwediva Teachers’ Training College.

Career
1986-1989: He served as a teacher at Emanya Combined School; 1990-1994: Teacher at Uukule Senior Secondary School; 1992-1994: Tutor at Uukule Senior Secondary School NAMCOL Centre; 1995-2001: Tacher at Okalumbu Combined School: 2002-2004; Regional coordinator for Swapo Party in Oshikoto Region from 2004-2015. He subsequently became a member of Oshikoto Regional Council and was elected Regional Councillor for Onyaanya Constituency. He was then appointed as a Member of Parliament representing Oshikoto Region in the National Council, the House of Review, which is the second House of Parliament.

Author: 1996: Wrote Oshindonga novel ‘Ampundja Ya Kula naHE, Ambambi Ya Putuka naYina’, published by Gamsberg Macmillan. 2007: Wrote Oshindonga novel ‘Pekota LyOmusaati’, published by ELOC Printing Press. Both books are currently used in Namibian schools.
