Windhoek

The Windhoek High School (WHS) tennis courts were abuzz as the popular Pro Tennis Academy’s (PTA) tennis series returned to action with some of the country’s biggest talents making their way to the heart of Windhoek last weekend.

With training having commenced last month, matches were played on a high level with participants fighting for each point to get a good head start in the various rankings. As usual, players went at it according to their skill set and not their age.
In the Intermediate division, Christopher Jansen was unstoppable as he cruised to a win and eventually the top stop.

He was, however, made to work hard for his triumph as Randel Kavandje and Hendrina Appolus, ending in second and third respectively, showed that they are definitely a force to be reckoned with in the next tournaments to come.

Cleet Farmer underlined his intentions of defending his title in the Advanced category with a fine overall win. Godwin Husselmann, one of the main challengers of Farmer in 2015, made second place while Emmanual Bras came in third.
Husselmann will most certainly feed off the good start to intensify his quest to push Farmer off his throne.
