Despite having lost their two warm-up matches against England and Zimbabwe respectively, the Namibian Under-19 cricket team skipper Zane Green is confident his charges will give a good account of themselves when they face Scotland in their first group stage match in Chittagong, Bangladesh today.
“We had a decent warm-up and there are lots of positives we can take out of it, though we didn’t get the results we badly wanted,” said Green from the city of Chittagong, venue of Namibia’s opening match against Scotland at 04h00 (Namibian time).
Since then the juniors have been training every day to be as well prepared as possible. The team had three good days of training before the opening clash and Green is upbeat the boys are ready to ruffle feathers.
Namibia play South Africa in their second group match on January 31 in Cox’s Bazar prior to squaring off against hosts Bangladesh on February 2 at the same venue.
