WINDHOEK – Former Namibian professional golfer on the Sunshine Tour, Francois Hanekom, now a member at Omeya Golf Club, showed the young guns that experience does count for something when he won the 49th edition of the Klipdrift Gold Cup, at the Windhoek Golf and Country Club last weekend.
The veteran golfer led from start to finish to win on five under par. In the women’s division, the overall winner was the young and very talented Caro Els with a gross score over two rounds of 153.
Former Ramblers and Brave Warriors goal poacher, Joseph ‘Draaitjies’ Martin and former South West Africa (SWA) and African Stars overlapping fullback George Gariseb, were among the prize winners in their respective categories.
