HENTIES BAY – Local and international investors are scheduled to set the tone for the revival of Henties Bay town during a two-day starting today.
The gathering, organized by the Henties Bay Town Council, is to address an integrated aquaculture, marine and integrated real estate programme for the coastal town.
The summit, themed, ‘Unlocking Henties Bay’, hopes to attract international and local investors, as well as political leaders who will discuss the rebirth of the town through the construction of a waterfront development initiative and other development projects estimated to constitute an investment of more than N$330 million.
“This summit is necessitated by the numerous applications to council for prospective investment in aquaculture farming, real estate, a four-star hotel, golf resort and botanical garden. Henties Bay as a coastal town and tourism destination, previously overshadowed by bigger resort towns, now wants to grasp this N$330 million opportunity with both hands to boost economic growth, job creation and sustainability, by bringing all the stakeholders under one roof and mapping the way forward,” reads a statement released by the acting Town Council Chief Executive Officer, Bianca Nguaiko.
Investors and captains of industry are scheduled to make presentations, and discuss and share ideas from legislation to implementation with community leaders, other stakeholders and political leaders, to mention a few.
