The days of living without proper accommodation could be a thing of the past for some residents of the Butterfly residential area of Katima Mulilo, thanks to the low-cost houses being constructed by the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia (SDFN).
The SDFN in the Caprivi Region was initially formed in 2000 with 105 members under the Zambezi Saving Project through the Build Together Project. The facilitator of the Zambezi Saving Scheme, Dorothy Ziezo, revealed that at least 13 low-cost houses have been completed since the scheme started.
