WINDHOEK
Ramblers’ livewire striker Gregory Tommy Horaeb’s unwavering wayward behaviour has landed him in hot water with the wealthy Pionierspark-based outfit for the umpteenth time.
A source close to the club confirmed the player had disappeared without trace after collecting his October salary at the club’s headquarters in Tunchel Street at the end of the month. He has not reported for training sessions ever since.
The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Horaeb’s off-the-field antics has irked the club’s management and technical staff and hinted that the former Orlando Pirates striker could be offloaded when the transfer window opens again in January.
The former youth international has a long record of poor discipline because of his habitual disappearing acts, only to pitch up later with a horde of lame excuses, but the club has ostensibly had enough and has ultimately resolved to part ways with the wayward but highly talented striker.
Horaeb has only featured as a second half substitute in Ramblers opening game against Fedics United this season and has not seen much action since then because of a minor injury, but the source claims the striker is well over the injury and should have been back in action already.
The speedy 20-year-old goal poacher joined Ramblers from Orlando Pirates last season together with midfielder Riaan Cloete who has since backtracked to the Buccaneers ship at the start of the current season.
Attempts to get comment from Horaeb drew a blank as his mobile phone remained stuck on voice mail and the player failed to respond to messages left on his voice mail.
