SWAKOPMUND – All together 88 horses and their riders have entered this weekend’s much anticipated horse riding show, at the Riverside Equestrian Centre near Swakopmund, starting Friday.

VDP Transport is the main sponsor for the show. The club offers a full programme with lots of fun and entertainment, with a bucking bull competition in which N$1 000 can be won by whoever manages to outdo the bull.

On Saturday, there will be a dance at the club with “ZIrk” while catering will be under the supervision of Kücki’s Pub and besides all the fun there will be serious riding as well.

The definite highlight of the show will be the FEI Group 9 Jumping Gauntlet run under international jumping rules. Namibia’s own international course builder Cord Cordes will provide enough excitement for both riders and spectators.

Chief Judge Detlev Voigts will keep a watchful eye over the proceedings. Sandra and Oswaldo Mendes, owners of the Riverside Equestrian Centre, believe it’s going to be a very exciting show full of action and fun.

The Riverside Equestrian Centre is situated on the banks of the Swakop River and interested parties are advised to look out for signboards.
