WINDHOEK – A record 13 games were played in the U/17 league of the Bank Windhoek Schools Netball Super League over the weekend, with Elnatan, Edugate Academy and Windhoek Gymnasium competing for top position.
Edugate and Windhoek Gymnasium won all their matches played at the Windhoek Gymnasium netball courts in Kleine Kuppe.
Edugate Academy trounced Mokganedi Thlabanello High School by 27-17 points, before defeating De Duine Secondary School by 24-15 and Windhoek High School by 24-11 points. Windhoek High School also lost their match against Windhoek Gymnasium by 13-34 and Windhoek Gymnasium also won their match against Elnatan Private School by 32-23.
Tsumeb Gymnasium continued with their impressive performances, with the girls from Tsumeb winning their encounter against Windhoek High School, JG van der Wath Secondary School and De Duine Secondary School. They were however not strong enough to negotiate their way past a determined Mokganedi Thlabanello, who beat them 31-26.
In the U/19 league, Windhoek Gymnasium also continued their winning streak by defeating Elnatan by 66-27 and Dr Lemmer High School by 53-21.
In a match played at Walvis Bay on Friday, Windhoek Gymnasium recorded a victory against Walvis Bay Private High School by 49-22.
Windhoek Afrikaans Private School won their match against Elnatan Private School. But despite their two losses, Elnatan Private School won their match against Dr Lemmer High School from Rehoboth.
