Atlantic, SSC  offer courses to health students

ONGWEDIVA - The Atlantic Training Institution in Oshakati, with the help of the Social Security Commission, has decided to offer free fully-funded training opportunities to various Namibians.

The courses to be funded are a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety level four and Certificate in Dental Assistant, also level four.

The opportunity will be given to 50 students.

The institution that offers health-related courses opened its doors to the public in 2018 and has trained over 2 000 students.

According to the institution’s information technology specialist Immanuel Immanuel, the opportunity came about when the school last year responded to a newspaper advert by the Social Security Commission (SSC).

“The SSC is the one sponsoring the students through us. The company has tasked us to advertise the opportunity on every social media platform and shortlist from different regions of Namibia. Students from privileged
and disadvantaged homes are encouraged to partake in education and uplift their respective societies,” said Immanuel.

Unemployed Namibians under the age of 35 are also expected to apply and people from the marginalised communities are encouraged to apply as they will be given first preference when they meet all admission requirements.

“We really cannot say the exact number of students to be shortlisted; we have decided to keep that information confidential. We do not want it to affect our shortlisting purpose,” he said.

Immanuel also announced that
the school is on the brink of expansion into other regions and that the school board feels excited to be part of the community building and uplifting,
and building of the Namibian youth.
