ONGWEDIVA – A 45-year-old woman is in critical condition after her husband (51) allegedly attempted to kill her in the wee hours of yesterday morning at Sky phase 1 location in Ongwediva. 

The husband suspected the wife of having an affair. After the failed murder attempt, the husband took his life. 

Oshana police spokesperson Thomas Aiyambo said the man hanged himself with a rope in their sleeping room. 

“After the man cut his wife, he took his own life by hanging himself in their sleeping room with a rope. The victim was taken to Oshakati state hospital, and she is in a critical condition,” Aiyambo said. 

The woman suffered cut wounds to her face, head and hands. 

“Before the incident happened, their children heard their parents arguing in their bedroom,” Aiyambo said.
