New JAC parts warehouse necessitated by sales growth

Excellent news for local JAC Motors customers is the southern African opening of a new state-of-the-art warehouse. Brand expansion and sales growth across the region prompted a second enlargement of the company’s parts warehouse within the last two years to meet rising demand from a growing customer base and expanded service area. The new parts warehouse is located at JAC Motors’ Roodepoort head office and is double the size of the previous facility. It also features a unique high-tech shelving system that doubles storage space, allowing for higher stock levels.

The new warehouse incorporates ultra-modern technology, and is centrally located for prompt deliveries to dealers across southern Africa.

Elaborating on the benefits of the new warehouse, Ian Pienaar, the aftersales manager at JAC Motors Namibia, told Woema the new facility has much more capacity, and operates in an extremely efficient manner.

“The new warehouse means shorter waiting times for parts from China. This is very good news for our Namibian customers because the waiting time for back orders will also be reduced,” said Pienaar.

Seven years since entering the regional market JAC Motors boasts over 70 dealerships across southern Africa, offering a variety of double-cab bakkies, forward-cab workhorses, and MCV and HCV trucks. The company recently introduced its new range-topping T9 2.0L CTi double-cab locally, following its world-wide debut at the 2023 Shanghai International Auto Show.

“We are proud to invest in a new, centrally located state-of-the-art parts warehouse facility. It will enhance our service, benefitting dealers, panelbeaters, and customers, consistently ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction,” said Karl-Heinz Göbel, CEO of JAC Motors South Africa.

In addition to its larger size, the new warehouse is engineered to streamline order processing and dispatch. Equipped with a high-tech ordering system, it enables rapid and efficient order fulfilment, with real-time tracking available to dealers to keep customers informed about their purchases.

“As a customer-centric brand, JAC Motors SA plans for future growth, particularly with an expanding product range. This growth trajectory will further accelerate our customer base, underscoring our commitment to customer satisfaction,” Göbel added. The company’s new parts warehouse provides easy access to all major highways in Gauteng.

Meanwhile, JAC’s T9 double-cab represents the pinnacle of its T-Series line-up. The T9, recently unveiled at the Shanghai Automotive Show, is a result of over four years of dedicated development and extensive global testing. The new T9 is the company’s most-advanced bakkie to date and is built on JAC Motors’ third-generation international LCV platform.

The striking T9, with its imposing road presence, spearheads JAC Motors’ pursuit of the rapidly expanding leisure-focused double-cab market. The T9 2.0L CTi range includes four Lux and Super Lux derivatives offering both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations to suit a wide range of preferences.

“We are excited to introduce the T9 into our T-Series double-cab range, targeting customers in search of luxurious comfort and the driving experience of a passenger car, perfectly suited to their active lifestyles and dual-purpose needs,” said Göbel at the time.

The T9 range showcases a new engine line-up from JAC Motors. This year, it debuts with the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, while the pipeline includes a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) models planned for 2024.

The T9’s super-responsive 2.0-litre four-cylinder, turbocharged, direct-injected, common-rail diesel engine featuring an intercooler and Electrical Variable Geometry Turbocharger (EVGT) delivers 125 kW @ 3,600 rpm and 410 Nm available between 1 500 to 2 500 rpm, ensuring extraordinary everyday drivability. The T9’s advanced drivetrain setup delivers remarkable fuel efficiency. The 4x2 derivatives achieve an impressive average fuel consumption of 7.8 L/100 km (combined cycle), offering an approximate 1 000-kilometer driving range on its 76-litre tank. With a braked Towing Mass of 3 500 kg, it is ideal for families towing heavy camping equipment when seeking adventurous outings.
