JAC Motors switches to higher gear with local consumers

JAC Motors switches to higher gear with local consumers

JAC Motors Namibia is visibly increasing its presence on the domestic market at an exponential rate, as its various derivatives continue to make significant inroads into the hearts and minds of local consumers.

All it takes to verify this elevated presence is a quick look-around on Namibian roads, where you increasingly see the bold and unmistakeably confident JAC logo on both bakkies and trucks.

Make no mistake, it is not by chance that the JAC logo is visible in all corners of the country. Having been driving a JAC T9 2.0 litre for about four months, courtesy of M&Z Motors, there is a certain sense of security, knowing that JAC started producing vehicles in 1964. The T9 is a smooth ride, with sufficient power.

Originally focussing on commercial vehicles seems to have translated well for the brand, as its passenger varieties have a rugged feel that conveys both reliability and longevity.

What perhaps makes JAC more appealing for Namibians is that a trusted local brand, Volkswagen(VW), owns a significant share of the China-based automobile manufacturer. VW obviously has a longer local history, and this international connection between VW and JAC only works in the latter’s favour to continue penetrating the domestic, regional and global market.

The VW link is also permeating into all JAC vehicles through increased performance and reliability, as the brand aims for greater worldwide penetration.

Meanwhile, JAC Motors Namibia ups its game in taking on competitors head-on with its bakkies seen either off-roading in the harsh Namibian landscape, dune driving in the Namib Desert, or cruising on the open read.

Moreover, JAC Motors Namibia has backedup the dependability of its vehicles by extending the service intervals of the T9 and T8 line-ups, featuring 2.0L turbo-diesel engines. This extension aims to enhance customer convenience, and elevate the overall ownership experience.

JAC Motors also announced the addition of ABS (anti-lock braking system) to its popular X200 2.8L TDI 1.5-tonne single-cab, enhancing safety for both crew and cargo. This upgrade complements the ABS-equipped X200 1.3-tonne double-cab, targeted at entities with labour-intensive crews.

JAC Motors’ dealer network currently covers over 70 locations across southern Africa, including Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Eswatini, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. This extensive reach ensures the brand’s after-sales service meets global brand standards.
