WINDHOEK – The Katutura Magistrate’s Court has set November 15 as the final date for police investigations and for the case docket to be brought to court, in the matter in which well-known hip-hop artist, 33-year-old Jerome ‘Jericho’ Gawanab faces a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The artist was charged for allegedly assaulting pint-sized Edward ‘Webster’ Snewe a couple of months ago.

Jericho allegedly assaulted the tiny DJ on 5 July in Katutura. The State alleges that Jericho assaulted ‘Webster’ by kicking him on the head and other parts of his body. Gawanab was arrested on 10 July and appeared in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court. The artist is free on N$500 bail, which was extended until 15 November.

Kennedy Haraseb of the law firm Koep and Partners represented Jericho. The 2011 Male Artist of The Year faced a similar offence in 2011, when he was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend Helena Ngaifiwa.
