GOBABIS – Jessica Katjiteo (26), through her foundation, Jessica High Five, recently donated clothing, blankets and cosmetics to the marginalised San community in the Omaheke region’s Epukiro constituency.

Katjiteo, who is also the San ambassador for Epukiro constituency, shared with VIBEZ! that the donation is part of the phase two programme in assisting the marginalised in the area, following the first phase earlier this year in Epukiro Post 3.

Phase two is named Winter Donation and has catered to 250 San members from Otjijarua, Otjombundiro, Okomumbonde and Ozombouvapa villages. “This is part of the foundation’s social responsibilities, and we have expanded this donation to Otjimanangombe settlement, where we handed back-to-school items to 10 selected San learners from Omuhaturua Primary School,” said Katjiteo.

The back-to-school parcels included two bars of soap, one washing powder, a face cloth, Vaseline, a sanitary pad, a blanket, and a toothbrush.

The San ambassador added that the San people are close to her heart and will continue striving for them with the little she has. She hails from the tiny Okajombo village in Epukiro constituency, was one of the Miss Namibia 2025 contestants, and played a pivotal role in helping the marginalised San community in the settlement where she got an ambassadorial title.

High Five Foundation was joined by Ngumee Kuhanga’s Great Hearts Foundation at the handing over ceremony at Otjijarua village.

Speaking on behalf of the Otjijarua San, Uakuzako Kavari, the village councillor, acknowledged the good gesture shown by the youthful ambassador and the other foundations that are helping the marginalised communities.

“It is good to have people in society who give back to the community. They must be empowered so that they can continue assisting the marginalised in our constituency,” said Kavari, who is a retired school principal.

Edward Kandapaera , the superintendent of the Omuhaturua Primary School, spoke on behalf of the learners. He appreciated the donation from Jessica High Five, adding that it means a lot to the San learners at his school.

“We didn’t expect this from a young person, and it’s a good gesture that must be followed to help the marginalised in the community. We also appreciate the donation to a learner with disability at our school. This is a big contribution to the education of the Namibian child,” said Kandapaera.
