Jetour T1 delivering exceptional value for local customers

While the phrase “value for money” has become common place in automotive marketing, one recently launched SUV is proving that this catchphrase is more than just a tagline.

The Jetour T1, recently launched in southern Africa and already available in China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines, has received a very warm reception in Namibia and globally for its value-packed offering. Within the first three months of 2025, over 17 900 T1 units were sold in China alone.

“Bold design and tech-rich interior”, “value-for-money SUV with strong feature set for the price”, “phenomenally value for money car with real capability” are just some of the reviews that the Jetour T1 has received recently.

In 2024, the Jetour T1 received the Red Dot Design Concept Award, recognising its distinctive boxy design, the seamless blend of classic off-road features with clean, modern lines and an interior that balances rugged character with real comfort. This globally-respected accolade underscores the T1’s success in combining urban practicality with genuine off-road capability, bridging everyday city driving and outdoor exploration.

“The Jetour T1 is quickly establishing itself as a strong value-for-money contender in the SUV segment,” said Jetour vice president Nic Campbell.

“As part of the newly launched T-Series, the T1 sets a new standard by combining style, performance and comfort in a thoughtfully designed, value-packed package,” he said.

International media have highlighted the T1 as tech-loaded and well-equipped, rivalling features usually found in more expensive SUVs, including a large infotainment display, advanced driver-assistance systems and a spacious, premium-feeling interior.

Its competitive pricing, combined with a robust turbocharged engine and smooth automatic transmission, has been praised for delivering a strong mix of performance and everyday practicality.

Locally, the Jetour T1 is available in four models, namely the 1.5TD 2-wheel drive Edge going for about N$552 000, the 1.5TD 2-wheel drive Aspire, the 2.0TD 4-wheel drive Xplora and the top of the range 4-wheel drive 2.0TD Odyssey, priced at around N$675 000.

All T1 models are equipped with 540° panoramic view cameras, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, LED lighting (front fog lights, automatic headlights and rear taillights), electrically adjustable heated mirrors, roof racks and privacy glass.

Both the 1.5TD 125kW and 2.0TD 180kW engines are paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering smooth and responsive performance. The higher-spec Xplora and Odyssey models add advanced capabilities and comfort, including an XWD intelligent 4-wheel-drive system, high ground clearance and eight driving modes, including Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and X-mode. Inside, they feature a 15.6” infotainment screen, dual-layer soundproof glass, ergonomic seats and flexible storage, while the Odyssey tops the range with a Sony 9-speaker surround sound system for an immersive audio experience.

With its boxy design with modern features, the Jetour T1 stands out as a smart, cost-effective choice within the SUV segment in southern Africa – a market that has seen SUVs and crossovers accounting for over half of all new vehicle sales in recent years.
