The City of Windhoek hosted its first Kapana Festival, celebrating culture and the community with freshly grilled meat, sizzling hot off the coals, and savour the authentic smokey flavours.

The event was well received and attended by delicacy lovers from across the city.

DJ London, DJ Siya, Unde JC, were the headliners for the two-day event alongside Tate Buti who kept the patrons fully entertained on Independence Avenue.

Windhoek mayor Queen Kamati said the Windhoek Kapana Festival offers a taste of rich heritage and culture. She said the famous kapana (grilled meat) has become a source of cultural pride for Windhoek, and this festival not only celebrates the loved local delicacy but also promotes tourism, supports local businesses, and strengthens the uniqueness of the city.

The Katutura Fashion Week, hosted at the Franco Namibia Cultural Centre was equally a resounding success with the first- and second-year students showcasing their collections. The event honoured Namibian culture through style and art, where tradition met innovation, celebrating roots and creativity.
