Katjavivi engages Namibian students in Cuba

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Peter Katjavivi, engaged Namibian students at the Universidad Marta Abreu de Villa Clara in Santa Clara, Cuba on Sunday.

Katjavivi is leading a multi-party parliamentary delegation that is visiting Cuba from 20 to 26 October 2024.
A press statement issued by the NA on Monday said Katjavivi and his delegation engaged and motivated the students, emphasising that education is a transformative opportunity that will enable them to invest in Namibia’s future.

“You are lucky to gain a new perspective that will broaden your understanding of the world. Take the opportunity to learn from the Cuban people and their customs. These connections can lead to lasting friendships and mutual appreciation,” said Katjavivi.
During the engagement one of the students, Willy Losper, said he was lucky to be selected to study in Cuba.
“We were selected by the Ministry of Works and Transport and we were divided into three groups to study different career paths. We believe that at the end of the road, we will go back and give back to Namibia,” Losper said.
