RUNDU – The Kavango East Regional Farmers Union (KERFU) elected Thomas Nyambe as its new chairperson during its recent elective congress that was held at Rundu.
Nyambe was the union’s previous vice chairperson.
Matheus Kalihomda, who previously served as vice secretary, was elected as the union’s new vice chairperson, while Thimoteus Kativa retained his position as secretary, and so did Kornelia Thimende, who returned as treasurer.
At the same elections, Haushiku Kemba was elected as the new vice secretary, while Kosmas Kashingo and Angelika Makanga joined as new additional members of KERFU.
“We pledge to serve you for the next three years. We are ready and looking forward to your support, advice and direction. We humbly request you to be honest with us so that we can address the challenges faced by farmers together as we move forward,” said Nyambe.
The previous KERFU management was in office since 2017 and comprised Adolf Muremi as chairperson, Nyambe as deputy while Kativa was secretary, and Kalihonda was the vice secretary.
Thimende was the treasurer, while Haininga Kadiva and Magreth Ndara were additional members. – jmuyamba@nepc.com.na
