Keetmans managers sign performance agreements

Keetmans managers sign performance agreements

KEETMANSHOOP – The CEO and executives at Keetmanshoop Municipality this week adopted a performance management system (PMS) to cement their commitment to the delivery of quality services to residents.

In her speech, town mayor Annelize Knaus said the day marks the signing of the agreements to enforce the implementation of the entity’s five-year strategic plan and the monitoring as well as evaluation thereof.

“The occasion further marks the realisation of the fourth and fifth milestones in efforts of rolling out the PMS process at the Keetmanshoop Municipality, as well as taking a cue from the directive issued in 2021 by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, requiring all local authorities to roll out the system accordingly,” she said.

She added that in enforcing the directive, the council has achieved the following milestones as part of implementing it, namely developing a five-year strategic plan, a PMS policy framework, an annual plan, and performance agreements. Knaus continued, “Structures to ensure effective implementation of the Performance Management System, which is subject to Namibian legislation, are still under development, while all adjustments in line with it for local authorities were duly put in place in order to ensure compliance with it.”

Additionally, departmental scorecards will be cascaded down to operational staff to ensure total management of organisational and individual performance at the municipality.
