KEETMANSHOOP – The popular annual NFA Galz and Goals soccer tournament for girls was held at Keetmanshoop over the weekend and was a great success.
The regional coordinator of the event, Brunna Golley, told New Era Sport that although it is not easy to organise events of this nature, everything went well as initially planned and a total of 220 girls participated in the competition.
The girls were divided in three age groups, U/ 13, U/15 and U/17 years and only three schools from the !Karas region could not manage to participate due to other commitments, according to Golley.
She said the quality of football was high, but the girls lack techniques, which the organisers have identified and will work on before the kick off of the Galz and Goals African Championships league due to start this coming weekend in Keetmanshoop.
