WINDHOEK Khomas Security has been a security service provider to be reckoned with for some time now. With 600 guards nationally, they have been serving and protecting Namibians for the past five years. They are proud to be the preferred provider of guaranteed security services to the private and public sector throughout Namibia. Khomas Security invests in Namibians and supports job creation in Namibia. Their services range from 24-hour live protection and armed back up, to armed response. Their 600 guards are fully trained and equipped to provide these services to Namibians, ensuring the health, wealth and wellbeing of Namibians. Under the tutelage of the Labour Consulting Group and Contact Communications, Khomas Security is embarking on an exciting new road of service excellence. Ms Ernesta Katjatenja, the Chief Executive Officer of Khomas Security, feels that to maintain Khomas Security’s status as a preferred provider for security services to many of the ministries in Namibia, the entire company must get a ‘make over’. “Rome was not built in a day,” says Katjatenja. Mr Elia Ngaruka, the Human Resources Manager at Khomas Security, approached the Labour Consulting Group to revamp their labour relations within the company, to regulate their workforce productivity and efficiency. “Just by enforcing and implementing the correct labour procedures, our day-to-day operations have already improved greatly. Our staff and management now understand our rights and this eliminates many of the operational issues we have had in the past.” The final leg of this extensive internal ‘make over,’ will commence in October 2006. Systematically every manager, supervisor and guard at Khomas Security will receive a two-day intensive training course, in which they will be educated in the very important aspect of Customer Care. “We want our business to project a professional and customer oriented image,” says Katjatenja. “Contact Communications has been in consultation with us and they will assess our guards levels of customer care currently and then develop courses to tackle those issues that our guards have at the different levels. Customised courses will then be implemented for our guards at the different levels and be effected over the next six months.” It will be interesting to watch the watchers, the protectors, as they develop and grow the new and improved Khomas Security. The new Khomas Security will be launched at an event in the next few months. Watch the press for details.
