WINDHOEK-Male model and musician, Killa-B, real name Kiljon Ngweda, has been Invited to catwalk at the Africa’s Finest Fashion Show Renaissance (AFFSR) Season 3, to be hosted in United Kingdom (UK), during the London fashion week early next year.
Killa-B says the opportunity came when the organisers of AFFSR saw some of his personal photo shoots and commercial shoots for his music projects a few years ago. “Alongside this, they also acknowledged my good musical abilities, but due to my musical obligations I could not really pursue the request to join some of the previous fashion shows. I found a need to grow my brand and image as to become a global household name. I approached the organisers who had previously approached me and discussed a working relationship in the modeling world.”
He then sent his portfolio and photo shoots and the rest as they say is history. He says it is a big honour for him and definitely the start of many great endeavours to come. “I am very ready to conquer and dominate the international modeling world as a male supermodel,” says Killa-B. He adds that he originally did fashion before music, and with a background in sports and bodybuilding, it was an image as well as personality booster for his confidence as he became a local music icon. “After years of so much dedication to music, I decided to broaden my horizons and have fun doing things I previously gave up to pursue a musical career. I truly love modelling and I am going to be just as passionate about it the same way as I been with my music. I feel so blessed,” he says.
During the show, Killa-B will be performing and modelling at the same time event and he will be shooting a video of one of his new songs in London. “I hope all these activities will introduce me to the even bigger platforms and big paying modelling contracts and famous fashion brands. I thank Air Namibia and the organisers for the travel arrangements, accommodation, selection and all the great help,” he says. As much as the world took and tormented Africa, he believes the continent still continues to spot the most beautiful smiles. “You see pictures of Africans surrounded by the worst situations but they portray a beauty in their innocent smiles. The fashion show is part of one of the biggest fashion weeks, the London fashion week. It is a big platform selling and promoting Africa’s cultural trends and fashion styles to the world’s masses,” says Killa-B. AFFSR is a fashion show that has been initiated by Namibian designer, Eva Miarka, based in London now.
