ARANDIS– Total Namibia also aims to sponsor highly recommended textbooks from Zebra Publishing to kick-start 2014 with good quality learning materials in mathematics and physical science at the Kolin Secondary School here.
Total Namibia as part of their corporate and social investment in the local communities, sponsored each of the 66 Grade 12 learners of the school with a high-tech, multifunctional scientific calculator and a high quality mathematic – geometric set during the school’s recent award ceremoy. These tools were aimed to aid in the final exam and in the future endeavours of the learners. The company has actively been involved, in collaboration with the school’s teaching staff, in preparing the Grade 12 learners for their final exams in mathematics and physical science. This entailed discussions of the real world industrial applications of the topics covered in the syllabus in the two mentioned subjects as well as tutorial sessions.
Town Mayor, Daniel Muhuura, Total Namibia representatives and proud parents were among the invited guests. The Kolin Foundation Senior Secondary School is primarily a mathematics and science focused school. In the 2012 Grade 12 final examination, they proudly took the three top performing positions in the Erongo region. The school has a long chain of proud and successful alumni seating in high positions in all sectors of the Namibian industries, including the current principal and town mayor.
The school honoured the hard working – top performing students with certificates and public recognition. The top three achievers of each grade each received additional gift vouchers for their prestigious accomplishments.
