WINDHOEK – The newest member of the Discovery family, the Discovery Sport, is every bit the Land Rover that buyers have come to expect, but also offers excellent road manners and refinement.

From more accurate electronic power-assisted steering (EPAS), to the first-in-class integral multi-link rear suspension, drivers will feel more connected to the road than ever before, without compromising on noise and comfort levels. These features also endow the Discovery Sport with excellent agility.

However, Land Rover has not struck a middle ground between on-road grace and off-road capability. The Discovery Sport remains capable of scaling steep gradients of up to 45 degrees, and has class-leading break-over, departure, and approach angles. It is also equipped with the latest generation of Terrain Response®, allowing drivers to customise settings for various driving conditions.

Other off-road technologies include Hill Descent Control (HDC®), for safely descending downhill at a controlled speed. Select Discovery Sport models will also be available with Land Rover’s All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC).

This intelligent cruise-control mode for off-roading allows drivers to concentrate on steering input by letting them set a crawl speed of between 1.6 to 30km/h. The all-wheel drive and electronics systems maintain the set speed and optimise traction, letting even novice drivers feel confident in all conditions.

With these innovative chassis and driveline advances, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport offers peerless all-terrain performance.
